"There are two types of people: those who travel, and those who don't. Real travel is often uncomfortable, if not, downright painful. What rewards the true traveler is not pleasure, but experience. If you think Disneyland as a destination, stay home there already too many Bozos on this bus." By Peter Menzel

Peter Menzel is a California-based freelance photojournalist whose work has appeared in many national and international publications. He has dedicated a large part of his 35–year career building an impressive portfolio of hi-tech stories on subjects as varied as virtual reality, insect robots, lightning, DNA fingerprinting, micromachines and solar power and solar cars.
Menzel's projects include Material World, A Global Family Portrait; Women in the Material World. These epic works of photojournalism focus on the material possessions and daily lives of average families and women around the world. Then, his third book was the critically acclaimed, Man Eating Bugs: the Art and Science of Eating Insects, a worldwide look at the human consumption of insects.
